Small Scale Irrigation, commonly regarded or described as the art and science of applying artificially the water requirement of crops for better growth and production, has become a very vital concern in the success and sustainability of the agricultural business and considered to be the only alternative means of solving today's food insecurity problem of the developing countries.
The stream entitled "Small Scale Irrigation and Development" is provided as a major course to natural resource departments of the Alage ATVET colleges, in which it is intended to make the trainees well acquainted with the techniques of irrigation. Therefore TTLM has been prepared to be used as a guide and reference to trainees as well as instructors of the colleges in the course of the training program. It is prepared in accordance with the curriculum guide previously prepared based on the occupational standard.
